Individual Counselling

For people who look fine but don't feel fine.

Individual Therapy

For people who look fine and don't quite feel fine

You might not describe your childhood as difficult. Maybe nobody shouted, nobody hit anyone, nothing happened that you could point to and say, that's the reason. And yet something about trust, or closeness, or believing you're allowed to take up space, has never quite settled. You've probably built a life that works well. You're capable, you keep things together, people rely on you. But somewhere underneath that, there's a quieter sense that something didn't get met.

This is the work I find myself drawn to most. Not crisis, not a single event to untangle, but the slow accumulation of not being fully seen. What some people call the mother wound, though it isn't always about mothers, and it isn't always obvious even to the person carrying it.

If this sounds familiar, here's roughly what working together looks like.

How I work

I work in an ongoing, open-ended way, usually meeting weekly. This isn't therapy built around a fixed number of sessions or a set of techniques to work through. It's built around the relationship between us, and what becomes possible once that relationship is genuinely trustworthy. That takes time. I won't pretend it doesn't.

In sessions, I pay close attention to what's happening beneath what's being said in your body, in the room, in the gap between what you're saying and what you might actually be feeling. I'll often name what I'm noticing and ask if it's true, rather than assuming I know. You're always the authority on your own experience.

What tends to shift

People I work with this way often start to notice they trust their own perception more. They get better at spotting old patterns as they're happening, not just afterwards. Relationships, friendships, family, romantic often start to feel less like something to manage and more like something they can actually be present in.

Is this the right fit?

This work tends to suit people who are curious about their own patterns, willing to sit with discomfort rather than rush past it, and looking for something deeper than symptom management. If you want a fixed number of sessions and a clear set of tools to take away, that's a legitimate thing to want it's just not really what I offer. If what you want is to understand yourself more honestly, and to experience what it's like to be met by someone who's genuinely paying attention, I'd like to hear from you.
