Hey there,
Let’s be honest—motherhood can be one of the toughest jobs out there. It’s isolating at times, often overwhelming, and occasionally feels like you’re losing your mind. But here’s the truth: it’s perfectly okay that it’s hard. In fact, it’s normal. If you’re feeling burdened by it all, remember, you’re far from alone. Even though It may seem like some moms effortlessly navigate the baby, toddler, and teen stages as if they’re on a leisurely stroll around Arthur’s Seat (a hill in Edinburgh). And your friends—or those picture-perfect families on Insta—seem to have miracle offspring compared to yours.
I want to remind you everyone has struggles sometimes,
Maybe you're really f*cking tired right now, up every hour to feed your wee one, and you're not sure which way is up,
Maybe you have teenagers who are using all of their skills to push all of your buttons,
Maybe you long for peace,
Maybe you miss your partner, being a partner first and not a parent first and things just feel different now,
Maybe its the "mum" guilt,
Maybe your struggling with breastfeeding
Maybe its anxiety and/or depression and you really need space to be able to speak to someone,
Maybe its none of this and everything else, whatever is troubling you I am here to support you if you wish.
It’s why I became a counselor. I know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed, lost, and utterly alone. I wanted to be there for other moms, to tell them that it’s okay to struggle, to cry, and to sometimes feel like you’re not cut out for this job. Spoiler alert: you are. You’re more than enough. But sometimes we just need a little help, someone to listen to us and someone who gets it.
Motherhood is hard, but that’s what makes it so incredibly worthwhile. When you need a little extra support, know that I am here for you. We’re in this together, and trust me, you’re doing an amazing job. Keep going, keep laughing, and most importantly, keep being you.
